About the artist
David was born and raised on the eastern edge of Manchester close to the Peak District. Visiting the hills at weekends gave him an early appreciation of landscape.
David’s inspiration for his photography comes from this appreciation of the various landscapes this country has to offer, combined with the changing play of light over the land. It is the changing light which David utilises to affect the mood and texture of his images. In a recent radio interview he also explained how his struggle with depression is used to inform his dramatic and moody images.
David has had a number of images published in the photographic press and was also exhibited at the National Theatre in London as part of the inaugural Take-a-View Landscape Photographer of the Year competition. His commended images were also published in the accompanying book. David’s first exhibition was held at The Vale and Downland Museum in Wantage and has since exhibited work at venues in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Devon, Lancashire and Oxfordshire. His images are sold in several outlets in and around Oxfordshire and he has completed numerous commissions for landscape and wildlife work.
